VME is based in Knutsford, Cheshire, 20 minutes south of Manchester. With over 20 years industry experience, VME has established itself as a major European supply company for all aspects of sound, lighting, AV and broadcast equipment. VME has a continuous commitment to the most advanced technology and design, and a constant program of maintenance and renewal to produce the reliability of our equipment expected by our clients.

VME started as a niche business supplying audio equipment to the broadcast industry.  Since then, the equipment hire side of the business has grown to own in excess of £5million worth of equipment, employ 16 full time staff and run a fleet of 10 vehicles.

Our staff are key to the growth and stability of the business.  We recognise that anyone can own equipment, employ staff and run vehicles. However, it is the management of these resources and skills of our technicians that sets us apart. We invest time and money to develop and support our staff, and the motivation of our team is shown in our staff turnover of below 5%. This includes full time and freelance staff, with many freelance staff having worked for VME for over 5 years.

VME believe that it is vital to provide a safe working environment for all our staff.  We provide regular Health & Safety training and many of our technicians hold industry related Health & Safety qualifications.

We are members of the production industry’s trade body, PLASA, which means that we fulfil their standards and comply with their Code of Conduct.  Additionally, we are currently working towards ISO 9001 (due to complete by November 2011) and Investor In People status (due to complete by January 2012).

VME's team continues to grow, with the founders still actively involved in its day-to-day running and operation. We understand the necessity for an efficient 24-hour backup service, and the ability to provide in-depth technical support for all our products when out on hire.
